Guy E. White is a Southern California artist, writer and educator. Receiving his Bachelor’s of Arts in English from the University of California, Riverside (2003) and his Masters of Education from the University of La Verne (2006), his academic teaching and research interests include organizational leadership, school culture, integral studies, 20th century American literature and drama, film studies, gender studies, autobiographical studies, and feminist and minority discourses. In the past decade, Guy has distinguished himself in his dedication to his wide array of diverse experiences in writing, teaching, web design, and administration.
Guy is the founder of the Don Lugo Renaissance Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to changing lives and impacting futures of Don Lugo students, staffulty, and parents. Using his unique notions of shaping school culture, Guy seeks to raise millions of dollars for his alma mater and the students, staffulty, and parents that make up its heart.
Currently an Advanced Doctoral Candidate in Organizational Leadership at the University of La Verne, Guy believes in a holistic approach to growth and transformation, taking into account physical, mental and spiritual dynamics (and more) within a community and the persons within it. Overall, Guy is concerned with how social environments corporately develop their members and in addressing the shortcomings of these organizations in cultivating the persons within this membership. As a Christian, Guy believes that all social spaces have the potential to be used in this aforementioned brand of holistic growth; from schools, to coffee shops, to churches, etc. This is clearly visible in his writing and teaching. Guy is heavily influenced by the writing and teaching of Ken Wilber, Don Beck, Jesus Christ, Rob Bell, and Yamamoto Tsunetomo.
Guy’s first published book, The First Seven Days, was published in mass-market paperback in mid 2009. He is currently working on various writing projects while he works on completing his dissertation.
Guy has written for Skinnie Entertainment Magazine, the University of California, Riverside, Highlander , Prism Review, and Coffee House Digest, having interviewed such artists as 50 Cent, Paul Oakenfold, Amy Lee of Evanescence, Paul Van Dyk, Fischerspooner, and Tiesto. Currently, he pursues various projects, including his continued education at the University of La Verne. Additionally, he teaches high school English to many eager and some not-so-eager seniors while pursuing interests in family history, technology, writing, and philanthropy. He has traveled throughout the United States, Costa Rica, Ecuador (including the Galapagos Islands), and Peru. Guy is married to the most intentional, inspiring, Christ-centered, beautiful woman he will ever know, obtained her cat as part of community property, and will one day have one-thousand children.
